SUMMARY:Carers Centre Professional Information Afternoon
DESCRIPTION:Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre’s next Professionals Information Afternoons take place 2pm – 4:30pm on: \n\nWednesday 21st February\nWednesday 20th March\n\nSessions are held via Zoom and in-person at the Carers Centre\, 1A Bank Street\, Falkirk\, FK1 1NB\, giving attendees the choice to attend virtually or not. \nFollowing the launch of NHS Education Scotland’s “How Carer Aware are You?” online resources in January\, these next sessions are designed as an opportunity for professionals to find out how the Carers Centre can work with them\, to support unpaid carers in their caring role\, as guided by the Carers Act and EPiC Principles. \nThe sessions’ programme reflects some of the aims of the online (Turas) EPiC Training programme and National Occupational Standards\, as outlined in the Competency Framework for health and social care staff. Attendees will also learn more about the Carers (Scotland) Act (2016)\, including: \n\nhow it is underpinned by UN Declaration of Human Rights\nhow it supports the role of a carer and aims to make caring more sustainable\nits recognition of carers as Equal Partners in Care\nits definition of a carer\, which helps support services identify them\n\nAttendees will be able to meet the Carers Centre team\, who will outline the ways the Carers Act defines their work\, along with how they can help attendees support unpaid carers they come into contact with through their own roles\, and how carers can access an Adult Carer Support Plan or a Young Carers Statement. \nFor further information\, including the full session programme\, please view or download the Information Leaflet as a pdf.
