The Edinburgh Airport Community Fund has £140,000 per year to award to projects based around local communities.
The fund, managed by the Community Board, supports the community through funding local initiatives to support health and wellbeing, the environment and education. The Board meets quarterly to review funding applications from the local community, and consists of key representatives from Edinburgh Airport and the local community, who provide independent evaluations of applications.
Charities or community groups associated with members of the Community Board can still apply for funding, but the Board member must declare their involvement, and withdraw from discussions and the decision-making process.
Applications must support the long-term development and sustainability of projects which fall into one or more of the following areas: sport, health and wellbeing; community; education; environment.
Applications should be submitted through the online form and received 2 weeks before the next board meeting to allow members to review each application. Applications received after this point will be referred to the following meeting.
Dates for 2020 Community Board meetings are:
- Friday 13th March
- Friday 3rd July
- Friday 13th November
Please note that organisations successful in applying for funding are not eligible to apply again for 2 calendar years where the beneficiaries would be the same.
