As part of Disclosure Scotland’s efforts to implement the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 by April 2025, they have now launched a public consultation to hear your views about reviewing their fee waivers, discounts, and registration fees for Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVGs) and disclosure checks.
We encourage you and your organisation to participate in the consultation (taking place from 5th March – 28th May 2024) and attend online or live sessions whenever possible to share your feedback,
The Consultation Paper
The full consultation paper is available to read and complete online on the Citizen Space website (linked for your convenience).
The Consultation Workshops
The short workshops will provide an opportunity to review the proposals laid out in the consultation and allow you to provide feedback and highlight areas to be considered if these proposals are passed to Scottish Ministers.
These sessions will focus specifically on exploring the following proposals:
- fee discounts for people in receipt of certain benefits
- fee discounts for care experienced young people
- fee discounts for Qualifying Voluntary Organisations (QVOs)
- registration fees for organisations who countersign any level of disclosure (Accredited Bodies)
Disclosure Scotland will guide you through each of these proposals, record your thoughts on them and advise how else you can contribute to the consultation to help shape any proposals sent to Scottish Ministers.
If you’re interested in attending any of these sessions, please contact the Disclosure Scotland Events Team via e-mail: dsworkshop@disclosurescotland.gov.scot.
Please note that your feedback from these sessions will be recorded and transcribed to ensure your views are considered. Disclosure Scotland ask that all attendees are familiar with their processes and therefore able to provide informed feedback on behalf of your organisation.
