Applications to the £2 million Children, Young People and Families and Adult Learning and Empowering Communities Project Fund (CYFEIF and ALEC Fund) are now open.
The Scottish Government has made project funding available to the third sector to support preventative work with children, young people and families. The project fund covers two years, from April 2017 to March 2019, and will focus on projects that:
- Promote parenting and family skills
- Contribute to reducing the educational attainment gap
- Improve life chances for looked after children
- Improve the safety of children and young people
The CYPFEIF and ALEC Fund is already supporting 116 charities. In its first year (2016-17), the three year core fund will provide around £14 million to benefit thousands of children, young people and families.
This new project funding will strengthen the contribution of the third sector, enabling charities to deliver fresh, innovative and measurable approaches, beyond their core work.
The closing date for applications is Friday 30th September 2016, with funding announcements expected at the start of 2017 for projects to begin in April 2017.
Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland is working in partnership with the Scottish Government to administer the project fund and will be running a series of information sessions. These will take place in:
- Friday 19th August 10.30am – 12pm in Edinburgh
- Thursday 25th August 11am – 12.30pm in Aberdeen
- Friday 26th August 10.30am – 12pm in Glasgow
Two webinars will also take place in early August: Understanding Outcomes and Indicators; and an Introduction to Improvement Methodology.
