A great deal of the work tackling the impact of welfare reform and poverty is taking place on the frontline, delivered by community based organisations. In recognition of this the Scottish Government is investing funding to increase the capacity and resilience of communities and local third sector organisations to provide people with the support and skills they need.
As part of the Community Capacity & Resilience funding, a pilot funding scheme is open for application to third sector organisations with an annual income of £200,000 or less in the 2014/15 financial year.
With £144,500 available for the 2015/16 financial year, the funding scheme seeks to support those organisations whose work is likely to have significant impact in their communities. The funding scheme aims to support innovative and creative projects, to have a preventative impact in communities, combating inequality and promoting social inclusion, and to assist work to mitigate the effects of welfare reform.
The funding scheme is also intended to support local organisations to work in partnership. The scheme is supported by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) which hopes the pilot will inform Scottish Government funding streams to community based organisations in the future.
To apply, please submit a completed application by 5pm on Friday 29 May 2015
