Climate FORTH is currently looking for young people aged 18 – 25 years old living in the Inner Forth Area who are interested in becoming volunteer Young Leaders, as part of their new programme.
“Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you want to ensure that the voices of young people are heard in planning for your community’s future? Want an experience that helps you build experience and develop your skills?”
As a Young Leader, volunteers will help ensure that the views, wishes and imagination of young people are captured in Climate FORTH’s project activities, mainly by running sessions with younger people, attending local workshops and sharing their experiences on Climate FORTH’s social media channels.
Volunteers are asked to give a minimum commitment of 4 hours per month for 6 months; there will also be opportunities for further volunteering and work experience afterwards.
Benefits for volunteers include:
- the opportunity to make a positive impact in their local community
- gain work experience in youth work, community planning, and workshop facilitation, amongst others
- growing their confidence and leadership skills
- optional certified skills training (eg. First Aid)
- priority booking for Climate FORTH’s Youth Training activities
- networking and introductions to key people and organisations working for a greener, fairer future
Volunteers’ expenses will be paid, and no experience is required, just enthusiasm. While preference will be given to those living in Climate FORTH’s target communities of Bainsford and Langlees, Fallin, Kincardine, and Hawkhill, they welcome applications from those living, working and studying throughout the Inner Forth area.
Please note that successful applications will be subject to a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check, to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
