CHS Panel Member Volunteers

Posted on January 22, 2021

Children’s Hearings Scotland (CHS) is now recruiting volunteer Panel Members, and accepting online applications until 11:59pm on Monday 15th February.

Panel Members take part in children’s hearings, often otherwise known as “children’s panels”, where their role is to listen and make legal decisions for, and with, infants, children and young people. Panel Members are supported by CHS, and are required to undertake comprehensive training to prepare them for the role.

Applicants must be aged 18 years old or over, live or work in the local authority area in which they wish to volunteer, and be committed to completing comprehensive training over a 3 month period. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, the majority of the training will be held online.

To submit an application, or for further information, please visit the Children’s Hearings Scotland website.
