Children in Scotland (CIS) is looking for 2 young people aged 18 – 26 years to join its Board of Directors.
The 2 new directors will take an active role in making decisions about Children in Scotland’s work, and will strengthen the links between the board and CIS’ children and young people’s advisory group, Changing Our World.
The Board meets 5 times per year, mainly in Edinburgh; this includes the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in November each year (which is sometimes held outside of Edinburgh).
A term on the Board is 4 years and each Board member can be on the Board for up to 2 terms. Board members can leave the Board at any point during a term in agreement with the Convenor.
In addition to these regular board meetings, directors may be required to attend relevant sub-committee meetings. Other responsibilities include championing the views of children and young people, and leading on specific requirements, providing expertise and advice on the priorities identified by the Board or in the organisation’s Strategic Plan.
A full list of responsibilities and requirements is available in the role description.
The deadline for applications is Sunday 30th June.
To apply, please send a covering letter (which can be provided in various formats, such as writing, video, song, or Instagram story) and a CV to CIS by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
