This year, #ChallengePoverty Week 2019 takes place Monday 7th – Sunday 13th October 2019. We believe our Falkirk third sector is best placed to challenge poverty and the related issues at local level, making a real difference to the lives of individuals and communities who are impacted by poverty. This has been demonstrated by the grassroots responses we have seen to poverty-related issues in our local areas, including food, school uniform and furniture poverty.
In our current climate, many of us notice the impact poverty has on our communities and wish we could take steps to alleviate this – there are many different ways this can be done in Falkirk, including volunteering. We’ve pulled together a few examples of volunteer roles open in Falkirk right now which tie into the #ChallengePoverty theme.
Volunteering is a great way for individuals to help people in their communities who are affected by poverty, but it isn’t the only way. If you’ve been inspired by this hotlist, or any of the other activities going on in our communities to help people, Lynsey and Scott are happy to have an informal chat with you to get your started – contact them by phone: 01324 692000, or email: info@cvsfalkirk.org.uk
