The Scottish Government has announced that some of the country’s most disadvantaged young people will benefit from £17 million seized from criminals.
The money will be used to provide activities and opportunities as part of the next phase of the CashBack for Communities fund, which will run from Saturday 1st April 2017 until Tuesday 31st March 2020, with applications for funding opening early in the summer.
CashBack for Communities invests funding into a wide range of projects and activities largely, but not exclusively, for young people at risk of turning to crime and anti-social behaviour as a way of life. Since 2008, CashBack for Communities has committed over £75 million to projects and organisations who work with young people, delivering more than 1.8 million activities and opportunities throughout the country.
