Falkirk and Clackmannanshire Carers Centre aims to ensure that carers of all ages are recognised, valued, receive the information and support they need, and are empowered to have a life outside of caring.
The Young Carers Project is for young people aged between 8 – 18 years old, whose lives are affected by a family member who has a disability, illness, mental health issue or an addiction. The aim of the Young Carers Project is to raise awareness of the needs of young carers, create positive outcomes and provide time away from their caring role. The project also supports young adult carers aged 16 – 25 years.
The Carers Centre is currently recruiting two Young Carer Workers to join their young carers team in the provision of group support, individual support, short breaks and a programme of activities across Falkirk and Clackmannanshire.
One is a full-time position at 35 hours per week, with a salary of £21,317 per annum; the second is part-time with 21 hours per week and a salary of £21,317 per annum (pro rata).
The successful candidates will be enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a commitment to ensuring children and young people reach their full potential. An understanding of the difficulties young carers face, along with knowledge of child protection procedures, would be advantageous. The roles will involve partnership working across education, social care, third sector and health, and will require PVG Scheme membership.
The deadline for applications is 12pm on Wednesday 18th October; application is by application pack only.
