There’s just under TWO WEEKS left before Bo’net‘s FREE Volunteer Recruitment Fayre!

In partnership with CVS Falkirk, the event takes place on Thursday 29^th August, 2pm – 8pm in Bo’ness Town Hall, Glebe Park, Stewart Avenue, Bo’ness, EH51 9NJ.

This is a perfect opportunity to find out more if you’re looking to volunteer, but don’t know where to start or what you’d like to do. Drop in at any time and speak to local groups about their opportunities in Bo’ness.

FDAMH Initial Assessment Officer Vacancy

Falkirk and District Association (FDAMH) is currently recruiting a Initial Assessment Officer for their Immediate Help Service. The position is 21 hours (3 days) per week, with a salary £25,000 – £28,000 per annum dependent on experience (pro rata), and a fixed term contract of one year. They are seeking applications from people with a formal qualification in mental health, social work, counselling or equivalent, with demonstrable experience in conducting person centred, holistic mental health and wellbeing assessments. The deadline for applications is 12pm on Friday 13th August.

Social Enterprise Intermediary Body Survey Closing This Sunday

Scottish Government’s online survey on a single intermediary for social enterprises in Scotland closes THIS SUNDAY at 11pm! The survey is part of their research into what Scottish social enterprises are looking for from an intermediary body, along with interviews of other intermediaries and strategic partners. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and should only be completed once per organisation.

California Community Hub: Youth Group Volunteers and Meeting

California Community Hub has recently been in talks with Falkirk Council about starting a youth club in their building. As a result, Falkirk Council has agreed to supply a paid member of staff for the club, and the Hub is now looking for volunteers to help out. The Hub has organised a meeting with Falkirk Council for anyone who is interested in volunteering, or learning more, taking place on Tuesday 17th August from 7:15pm (after Taekwondo class) at the Hub.

Community Ownership Fund: Round 1 Open

The UK government has launched the new £150 million Community Ownership Fund to help communities across the UK take ownership of assets and amenities at risk of closure. The fund will run for 4 years, and may support the purchase and/or renovation costs of these assets and amenities. Eligible voluntary and community organisations can bid for match funding. Proposals will need to prove the value of the asset to local people, and that the asset can run sustainably for the long term benefit of the community. The deadline for Round 1 proposals is Friday 13th August.
