On Friday 1st April 2016, the Blue Badge scheme was extended on a pilot basis across Scotland to include “people who, as a result of a diagnosed mental disorder or cognitive impairment, have no awareness of danger from traffic and are likely to compromise their safety, or the safety of others.”
The pilot operates separately from the current Blue Badge scheme, and can only be applied for through a paper application form. Applicants should contact their local authority for a form.
The pilot will conclude on Friday 31st March 2017.
