#NoWrongPath is a social media movement, led by Developing the Young Workforce (DYW), which provides inspiration and reassurance to young people receiving their results. The campaign aims to show young people the options that are available to them and that results are not necessarily the key to unlocking future success. As many of our Falkirk District young people look towards Results Day this Tuesday 5 August 2025, we asked our Career Ready Intern, Hope, to share her experience taking part in the programme.

“For this school year, I have been involved with Career Ready, a UK-wide organisation that allows students to get involved in paid internships through various organisations to learn new skills and help make an easier entrance into employment or simply gain work experience. It supports those who participate get the necessary skills connected to their chosen career path.

I am currently a high school student, and it was through my school that I heard about Career Ready, as my career advisor highlighted it as a program that could help me enter employment, and put me in touch with my school’s Career Ready team.

During my Career Ready experience, I have completed a paid internship as an Administrative Assistant with CVS Falkirk & District where I have worked closely with their volunteering, community development, and communications teams. This experience within CVS Falkirk & District has benefited me a lot, gaining personal knowledge about volunteering opportunities and groups, how they work and how CVS Falkirk & District engage with them, but also, I have built up more technical skills through platforms such as Excel and Canva – which I used for presentations and spreadsheets, tasks which will in turn support my future studies and employment opportunities.

In terms of my goals past high school, I am hoping to study theatre and get my teaching degree, while doing some sort of volunteering. Even though SQA results day is quickly approaching, I don’t feel as anxious as I thought I would as I’m fairly sure that I have managed to accomplish my academic goals for the year. Although, learning how the other employees at CVS Falkirk & District came to this position made me realise that results day is not exactly the key to future success, as other opportunities such as internships, apprenticeships, work experience, or volunteering can help you find the perfect path for you.

My message to my fellow students this results day is that even if you aren’t quite sure what you want to do at this point, start looking into career opportunities to gain some kind of experience, as no matter what you try out, you will always manage to get something positive out of it.”
