Winter can be a difficult time for anyone, for a number of reasons.

The Scottish Association for Mental Health’s (SAMH) new suicide prevention campaign, Ask Them About Suicide, aims to empower everyone to ask the question, “Are you thinking about suicide?” if worried about someone.

The campaign was developed with people who have been affected by suicide, who told SAMH that this is the most important question people can ask.

Ask Them About Suicide is spearheaded by a short film which will appear across social media, a wide range of podcasts, and on STV, run during December 2022 and January 2023.

The film directs people to the new campaign web hub, with free resources and guidance, along with help in asking the question, and what to do next.

There is also a campaign toolkit available to download as a pdf (linked for your convenience), for anyone who would like to share the campaign across their own pages, channels and networks.
