The Asda Foundation has reopened its Foodbank Fundamentals Fund, offering grants of up to £1,000 to support grassroots organisations providing food aid within their local communities.
The fund is open to UK not-for-profit organisations with an annual income of £250,000 or less, where food distribution and provision is their primary purpose. Eligible organisations include food banks, community pantries, social supermarkets, soup kitchens, and breakfast clubs. Funding can be used to purchase essential food supplies, including baby food and formula, basic hygiene products, fridges and freezers, storage equipment, and fuel costs associated with delivering food to isolated individuals. Organisations which have already received funding from the Asda Foundation during 2026 are not eligible to apply.
The closing date for applications is 10am on Tuesday 22 September 2026; please note, the fund may close earlier if demand is high.
