Addictions, Support and Counselling (ASC) provide a range of counselling, community rehabilitation and support services for people affected by substance misuse to help them on their recovery journey. With their partner agencies, they are committed to making recovery a reality across Forth Valley.
They are currently recruiting 2 Assistant Recovery Workers. Both positions are 17.5 hours per week (including evenings and weekends), with a salary of £17,157 – £18,354 pro rata.
Applicants should be passionate and enthusiastic about recover, with a good understanding of the impact that substance misuse can have on individuals, families and communities. An ability to work flexibly and creatively in motivating, supporting and developing people in recovery is required.
Those who are in recovery should have a minimum of one year’s stability from substance misuse or addictive behaviours.
A recognised professional qualification in social care, health care, community work, counselling or addictions is desirable, but not essential. Those who do not have any such qualifications would be required to achieve an SVQ Level 3 Social Services and Health Qualification during their employment with ASC.
This post requires an enhanced disclosure; successful candidates must undertake a satisfactory Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Record for Restricted Work with Protected Adults.
