Addiction Support and Counselling (ASC) provide a range of counselling, community rehabilitation and support services for people affected by substance misuse, to help them on the road to recovery. Along with their partner agencies, they are committed to developing peer support throughout all local substance misuse.
They are currently recruiting for an Addictions Worker to provide counselling support in their new Women’s Outreach Team, as part of a joint venture with their partner agency Circle.
The post is 35 hours per week, with a salary of £23,697 – £26,235, and is based in Hamilton as part of a joint venture with their partner agency Circle, travel to other areas may be required.
The role involves supporting mothers and their families affected by parental involvement in the criminal justice system.
Applicants should have a recognised professional counselling qualification at a minimum of SVQ level 4, experience with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and be familiar with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Codes of Practice for employees and employers.
They should also be comfortable with multi-agency working, managing a busy caseload, and monitoring and recording all aspects of their work, along with being familiar with tight deadlines. Additionally, applicants should have a good understanding of and familiarity with recovery.
The successful candidate will be competent in undertaking assessments, participating in group work and working in a joint service with women to develop effective recovery plans.
