Addiction Support and Counselling (ASC) provide a range of counselling, community rehabilitation and support services for people affected by substance misuse, to help them on the road to recovery. Along with their partner agencies, they are committed to developing peer support throughout all local substance misuse.
They are currently recruiting an Addictions Worker – Counsellor to provide high quality and effective cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) counselling.
The post is 21 hours per week, with a salary of £23,697 – £26,235 (pro rata), and is based in the Forth Valley area.
Applicants should have a recognised professional counselling qualification at a minimum of SVQ level 4, a recognised award in CBT, and be familiar with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) Codes of Practice for employees and employers.
They should also be comfortable with multi-agency working, managing a busy caseload, and monitoring and recording all aspects of their work, along with being familiar with managing deadlines. Additionally, applicants should have a good understanding of and familiarity with recovery.
The successful candidate will be competent in undertaking assessments, developing recovery plans and using task-focused interventions, and will committed to working in a recovery-focused way.
