Addictions, Support and Counselling (ASC) provide a range of counselling, community rehabilitation and support services for people affected by substance misuse to help them on their recovery journey. With their partner agencies, they are committed to making recovery a reality across Forth Valley.
They are currently recruiting for an Addictions Worker – Counsellor, prison-based.
The position is 35 hours per week, with a salary of £24,289 – £26,891 per annum.
The successful candidate will be working in partnership with NHS Forth Valley and the Scottish Prison Service at HMP Polmont Young Offenders’ Institute (YOI) and HMP Glenochil, and may also be asked to work at other establishments across Forth Valley.
They will require strong assessment, care planning and counselling skills to work with offenders, many of whom are affected by alcohol misuse. They should also be comfortable working alongside colleagues within a multi-agency approach in developing creative responses to need.
Applicants should have a recognised professional qualification in counselling, and an award in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), or be willing to obtain one.
In addition, applicants should be familiar with managing a busy caseload and in monitoring and recording all aspects of their work, and have a strong commitment to promoting recovery.
