We may joke about the weather in Scotland, but heat is a real risk that can affect anyone. Hot weather can cause heatstroke and heat exhaustion and being exposed to the sun for too long can cause painful sunburn.
Safer Scotland have released a campaign to help keep people safe this summer offering advice on:
- Using sun cream
- Checking on neighbours and relatives
- Keeping your house cool
- Coping with the heat
- Not leaving babies, children or pets in the car
- Safety in the water
- Protecting babies and children from heat
- How to save water
- Wildfire prevention
