We might have mentioned before that this year’s Falkirk Funders Fayre is the TENTH ANNIVERSARY event – but did you know that some funders have attended almost every year to support Falkirk District’s third sector?
Next month, on Tuesday 19th March, we’ll welcome 24 funders to Bowhouse Community Centre, with 10 of them having attended the very first event in 2014!
They include:
- the National Lottery Community Fund Scotland (as the BIG Lottery): awarding lottery money to community groups and projects that improve health, education and the environment.
- the Bank of Scotland Foundation: providing small grants to individuals and families in crisis and local charities providing front line support within Falkirk, Stirling, and Clackmannanshire Council areas.
- Falkirk Schools Charity Board: with grants of up to £1000 for educational projects, or for recreational facilities.
- Foundation Scotland: working to strengthen local communities by providing funding to community-led projects the length and breadth of Scotland.
- Firsport: supporting people to start, develop and grow their ideas into businesses with social impact at their core.
- Falkirk Business Gateway: providing practical help and guidance to start ups and growing businesses such as social enterprises.
- Tesco Stronger Starts (under Tesco Charities Trust): previously known as Tesco Bags of Help, the funding aims to make a positive difference, and is open to charities and community organisations to apply for a grant of up to £1,500, through the blue token customer vote in local Tesco stores every 3 months.
- Falkirk Council: the Community Grants Scheme accepts applications from groups and organisations across Forth Valley, and must address one or both of the Health Promotion Service Priorities (ie. Health Inequalities, and Mental Health and Wellbeing).
- Asda Foundation (under Asda Small Grants): funding for projects in different categories covering Better Communities, Active Lives, Leading Healthier Lives, Seasonal Celebrations and Festivals.
- the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) Scotland: providing ongoing training and support to people in Scotland trying to create and sustain social enterprises.
