A More Sustainable Forth Valley
A message from Rosa Huczynska, the new Forth Valley Network Co-ordinator for the Scottish Communities Climate Action Network (SCCAN), on a Forth Valley Climate Action Network:
“Is your community organisation tackling poverty, protecting local greenspace, helping people grow food together, promoting energy efficiency or active travel, or campaigning for action on climate change or social justice?
Could you benefit from meeting similar organisations across Clackmannanshire, Falkirk, or rural and urban Stirling? Would you share what’s working well, or get help to solve particular problems?
By working together, communities can take more effective action, help more people live sustainably and with dignity, and create a just, thriving and resilient future.
A Forth Valley Climate Action Network is being developed to bring together community organisations that are concerned with sustainability, climate change, the wellbeing economy, and community resilience. It will enable groups to share expertise and ideas, connect them to funding or training opportunities, amplify the voice of communities, and identify opportunities to work together. It may also be able to attract further support and funding into Forth Valley.
If you would like to be involved in developing a Forth Valley Climate Action Network, or discuss what it might mean for your community group, please get in touch with Rosa Huczynska by email: rosa@scottishcommunitiescan.org.uk
You can also sign up to receive a regular newsletter (linked for your convenience), to keep you informed about the development of the Forth Valley Climate Action Network over the coming months, and opportunities to get involved.”
