Shared Care Scotland’s Short Breaks Fund has launched the 2019 Better Breaks programme, which provides grants for third sector organisations to develop and deliver short breaks, projects, activities and services for children and young people with disabilities (20 years old and under), and their carers (of all ages, including young carers).
Funded projects can include breaks away (including overnight stays and residential breaks), days out, or shorter sessions (including regular activities).
To be eligible for Better Breaks funding, projects must be able to evidence how their activities will benefit both disabled children and young people and their carers, by providing a break from their normal routine.
Grants are for one year (April 2020 – March 2021), with a total of £1.1 million available.
This funding is for third sector organisations and groups operating in Scotland. Applicants do not need to be a registered charity, but must have a constitution stating that their organisation’s purpose is charitable and that they deliver public benefit in achieving their purposes.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday 21st November.
