UK Youth and Starbucks Coffee Company have launched the 2015 Starbucks Youth Action programme.
Youth workers working with young people aged 16 – 24 years old (who are not in education or employment) can receive up to £1,000 funding to support those young people in running a social action programme, with an additional contribution for their own time.
The project must be led by two young people, and engage with a further 50 young people throughout its course. The project leaders must also be supported by a youth worker or training organisation during the project.
Projects should provide a positive benefit to the local community, and enhance the young leaders’ employability and leadership skills. In addition, young people will have access to job and apprenticeship vacancies within the Starbucks Coffee Chain. The programme is primarily focused on young people not in education or employment although strong applications from other applicants will be considered.
Applications are accepted and assessed on a rolling basis until March 2016.
