Hospital radio volunteer

Brief description:
Royal Radio is the in-house radio station which will serve the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert. Royal Radio are now seeking a range of volunteers including outgoing and confident individuals to present a wide variety of radio programmes.

Full description:
Radio Royal provides entertainment for patients, visitors and staff at Forth Valley Royal Hospital, Larbert. All volunteers will have the opportunity to learn new skills and make a very positive contribution to improving life for patients in hospital. Volunteers can choose to specialise in programme presentation, production, engineering, ward visiting, fundraising etc. All necessary training will be provided - so now is the time to get involved!

Skills Required:
Volunteers should be good communicators, be trustworthy, be prepared to work with the public, be a team worker but above all have an interest in radio. Any previous radio experience or media training would be very useful

Minimum age: 16

Takes place:
Typically volunteers will need to commit to 2 hours per week, however the day and times they volunteer can be flexible dependent on a volunteer's availabliity and commitment. No minimum committment

Training and Support
Aside from intitial and ongoing in-house training, no formally recognised training is offered. Presenters will receive technical studio-based training in presentation skills etc

Expenses
Regrettably travel expenses are not available to Radio Royal volunteers
