Brief description: Volunteers needed for Bumblebee surveys. Just one walk per month could help save our declining bumblebee species.
Full description: The Bumblebee Conservation Trust are accepting applications from people to carry out bumblebee surveys. Volunteers are required to establish a 1-2km fixed walking route in an area of their own choosing. This route must be walked once monthly between March and October and volunteers are asked to record the number of bumblebee individuals they observe on the recording sheets provided. Volunteers will be collecting important information on bumblebee populations which will contribute to the conservation of this much loved group of insects. What better way to spend a summer afternoon than beewalking for conservation?
Skills Required: All that is required is that the volunteer has an interest in the activity.

Takes place: 1-2 hours per month.
Training and Support Volunteers will be provided with instructions, an ID guide and recording sheets. Volunteers can also email if they run into any difficulties.
