Welcome Section volunteer opportunities

Board Members

Brief description:
Our volunteer team deliver the service to our local community. We need volunteer Board Members to take responsibility for making decisions to develop and sustain our charity.

Full description:
We are now looking to bring in a range of expertise to our Board to enable us to shape our organisation in line with the rapidly changing world we live in today. This is an exciting opportunity and as a member of the Board you will pay a crucial part in shaping the direction of the organisation. If you have experience in social services, health, family services, accounting, funding models or strategic development then you could be just the person we are looking for. As a Board member you will also have the opportunity to do something different and learn not only about our work but also about work in the voluntary sector and ultimately make a lasting improvement on family life in your local community.

Skills Required:
Respect confidentiality, trustworthy, have an interest in the activity, have office experience, be able to work on own initiative, a good communicator, managing budgets, emotionally stable, computer literate and a team worker.

Minimum age: 16

Takes place:
6 hours per month. 6 months minimum commitment. Day can vary to suit volunteer.

The organisation is particularly looking for people with availablity during these days and times:

Training and Support
No formal training would be required for these roles although basic in-house induction of work available and training on roles and responsibilities can be arranged if required.
