Awareness Talks Volunteer
Brief description:
Bowel Cancer UK is looking for friendly individuals to assist with our awareness work. We are looking to train volunteers to give talks on behalf of Bowel Cancer UK to community groups in their area.
Full description:
We will give you all the skills necessary to give talks in your local community on behalf of Bowel Cancer UK. You will be part of a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated team and you will be making a real difference to a charity that aims to provide information on bowel cancer to the nation. You will learn how to communicate to different groups of people, we will train you in presentation skills, you might already have relevant presentation skills that you could bring on board.
The awareness talks would take place to groups such as Age Concern, Rotary, workplaces and at community events such as farmers markets, healthy living days and mens health week events.

Minimum age: 18

Training and Support
An induction to the charity, the volunteering role, BCUK’s policies and a volunteer handbook will be given. Initial training will consist of attending a weekend training event. Ongoing training and support will be provided by the contact person at BCUK.
Expenses
40pence per mile.
As and when required.
