Conference details in safe hands - child protection conference

19th November 2007
St Mungo's High School, Falkirk
9.30am - 4.30pm

CVS Falkirk and District is delighted to announce the first child protection conference in the Falkirk area designed primarily for community groups and voluntary organisations.
in safe hands - a child protection conference

The conference will update delegates on local and national issues in keeping children safe, provide relevant information, share good practice and promote cooperation between all agencies.

The conference is being held on 19th November, World Day of Prevention of Child Abuse.

The conference is relevant and suitable for community groups whether run by volunteers or paid staff, small or large voluntary organisations, childminders, parents, statutory agencies, community representatives and members of the wider community.

As a dramatic start to the conference Impact Arts will perform "The Big Bag of Worries". Dr Helen Hammond, Consultant Paediatrician, is one of our guest speakers and she'll give an insight into the medical professions role in child protection.

In the afternoon, Elaine Chalmers of Childline Scotland will present "The age of innocence? What children and young people tell Childline Scotland about their lives". As well as our guest speakers, the educational drama production and expert panel fielding child protection questions, there are eleven workshops to choose from for the two workshop sessions. There really is something for everyone!
