Brief description:
Therapeutic Care is an excellent service that delivers: hand care, hand and arm massage, back and neck massage. The service is delivered by a committed team of volunteers.

Full description:
British Red Cross is committed to training volunteers to provide our Therapeutic Care service in the local community. Therapeutic Care is gentle hand, arm, back and neck massage that we deliver to people living with cancer, effects of stroke, mental health issues , Alzheimer's and long-term conditions. The service is located in hospitals,day centres and in clients homes and can help individuals to maintain well-being and remain independent. Joining our service will allow you to gain new skills and be an integral part of a team committed to developing the service further.

Skills Required:
Commitment to volunteering, caring, respectful of confidentiality as well as bieing trustworthy. A good communicator and listener who enjoys working with the public and is non-judgemental.

Minimum age: 18

Takes place:
2 hours per week negotiable with volunteer and placement. Placement is usually between 10am - 4pm Monday - Friday. Expectation that commitment would be ongoing.

Expenses
Yes. 45p per mile expensed monthly via our expenses claim policy.
